ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project is an initiative born from a playthrough of the solo journaling RPG Over The Mountain. I started playing this game and after a couple of entries, i found myself in a little over my head with characters, a mysterious town and plot threads that I wanted to follow away from the structure that had allowed me to begin nurturing this idea. I am eternally thankful to Over The Mountain RPG for having lead me to this discovery. 

It will be updated a bit irregularly with entries of the different occurences and discoveries made by our main character, Xavier Langston, as well as containing information about the town where it's set. 

This is a project brought forward by only one person, so it is a bit of an undertaking, yet something I am very willing to bring forward. You can find me in Twitter or Instagram if you wish to talk about it! 

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little horror story of a writer moving into a strange town near a lake. Let yourself inhabit his words and his skin to experience this truly bizarre ride.

SECOND ENTRY

After writing about my accident in Lover's Cross and my (eventful) trip to Loony's , I had the sobering realisation I hadn't even explained where I was staying.  It's official. I'd say it is, anyway. I've finally settled into the house at Dreams Lake. It looks more like what I'd always imagined as a cabin in the woods rather than a suburban home, but then again, it was almost in the middle of nowhere. It still belongs to Dreams Lake, but rather than decorating one of its streets, it rests near the edge of a still frozen over lake. Hence the name. I've had enough time here to be able to conclude that imaginative names were not their thing. I suppose, it's not a necessity.  The first time my car sputtered down the dirt road leading up to the entrance, I felt my heart fall at the sight of the house. FIRST ENTRY

Been here for a couple of weeks already, but this morning it seems to have finally sinked in. Dreams Lake. The road was iced and filled with black snow at the curb. The traffic lights weren't working and another car crashed into mine.  It wasn't an unusual sight to witness in Lover's Cross , despite only becoming a resident in this town a few weeks ago, it was one I'd seen many times already.  Nevertheless, I had to stop on the side of the road. It wasn't even that serious. The car only had a small bump and nothing was truly  broken. Still, my hands were shaking. I kept reminding myself that it had been a bad idea to come to this town (even though, I knew I didn't really think that). By the time I calmed down, I couldn't remember why I'd even gone out. It didn't seem to matter too much anymore, anyways.  When afternoon had truly sunk its claws into the day, I finally remembered. I'd gone out to buy a packet of cigarettes.
